Our Services



Work at the QUANTERB will be organised around three major themes - Policy Modeling, Capacity Building and Information Management. This will facilitate the achievement of the stated objectives ensure continuous inter-relationship among them.
 
Quantitative studies are to be undertaken of policy regimes in Africa so as to analyse the performance (actual and potential) of development policy options. These studies should provide necessary information on lessons to be learnt and assist in reducing the level of uncertainty in policy formulation and implementation.



The bureau will organise training and exposure activities to build and strengthen the capacities of policy, research and statistical units of private sector enterprises. The strategy is to identify skill gaps resource needs and determine the general knowledge enhancement necessary to upgrade performance. The programme will also include specially tailored training schemes for policy analysis units of parastatals, public sector agencies and governmental organisations.
 
The bureau is also committed to the development and continuous up-dating of a data bank on development policy issues. The central outfit for this strategy will be the research library of the bureau which strives to be a model library on development policy issues. it will be accessible to policy analyst researchers and policy makers from all parts of the continent.


The bureau will also organise regular seminars, symposia, colloquia and workshops to facilitate exchange of ideas. This will create a forum for eminent scholars from around the world dliberate on African development issues. As a means of disseminating information emanating from these various activities, the bureau will produce various publications including working papers, periodicals and professional textbooks.
